Just back from the kindergarteners’ parent info night for my town. I called the school district today to try to learn the lay of the land as far as enrollment goes, and they suggested I come to the info session that happened to be tonight. Turned out to be pretty informative, in terms of the choice of elementary schools and after school care options.
As a product of the local school system, I made a point to meet the principal of my old elementary school, who seems like a real nice guy and said to give him a call if I need anything (which I will and I will). Also met the head of the Registrar’s office, who was also real nice and told me what a great thing I was doing. All in all a good first interaction.
By the way, you know you’re old when your old elementary school is in a building named for your old principal!
